Teaching can be a challenging yet very rewarding job. There are many varieties of teaching jobs on offer from teaching reception children all way up to secondary school and to teaching in an adult learning environment either at a college or university or on training programmes. So how do you decide what age of pupil you wish to teach? The beauty of teaching is that you do not have to do a different course to teach different ages, so although you may need to go on other training programs you can switch between ages of pupils you normally teach quite easily.

Secondary school teaching is often seen as quite a challenge as the age of the pupils is often when they are most likely to cause disruption and even possible physical or verbal outbursts, but saying that, it can also be very rewarding as you are teaching many students the information that they require to pass their exams and get a job or progress in to higher education. The important thing to remember is teaching any age has its pros and cons so just weigh up which are better for you.
