Places to work when self employed

There are a number of people that are self employed and work from home. This can be a great way of working and often allows people to be flexible in terms of school pick ups etc and can save you money on travelling to an office but it can also have its downsides.

Working from home can be hard if you struggle to stay focused and get easily distracted. If you are at home you are likely to start to look around you and think of other house hold chores you need to do. Very quickly you can find that your day has been used up on cleaning or sorting out and you have had little time to get your work done. Working from home can also be quite lonely and you may feel that you never leave the house.

There are some great schemes about where by you rent an office desk within a building allowing you to work with other people whilst still running your own business. Often these places allow you to pay a weekly or monthly amount and use the office space and facilities such as internet etc. Some even have a meeting room that you can book out to use when available. Often these places start from as little as £20 per day and some don’t tie you in to a lengthy contract either.
